The Great Gatsby pages: 11- 21

The author uses sound to make the room sound whimsical, the flapping of the curtains, the groaning of the picture.
imperceptibly
Miss Baker, "I'm stiff... I've been lying on that sofa as long as I can remember."
languidly - slowly, relaxed (little too much)
Daisy is a little hyper. Always on something, the future the past, always switching the subject (self-absorbed)
Tom - Uncle Tom (kek)
Nick Carraway - narrator currently
Daisy is "dazzling"
Daisy has a daughter
"All right... I'm glad it's a girl. And I hope she'll be a fool - that's the best thing a gil can be in this world, a beautiful little fool" - Daisy
 peremptorily
Tom - "'had some woman in New York'"
Sadness
