ON SELF-RELIANCE PART II

- It appears as though Emerson seems to know how to write
- Emerson adds a Greek quote which makes the written work seem pensive to some degree
-The written work has lots of big words imploring that Emerson has a big vocabulary, implying that Emerson is a knowledgeable person.
-The way he discusses topics, making a story to fit in, a story for the audience to relate to is pretty nice
- Uses references to the bible
-Uses man in the format of mankind as a way to emphasize the universality of the subject at hand
-What was the point of writing this? I ask
- Did Emerson feel as though the world in itself needed encouragement?
-Did Emerson wrote this as a projection of himself as his actions or did he see this occur within his time?
