TRAINING LIKE A MEMORY CHAMPION

      I think it's really interesting how someone could remember thousands of digits of pi, just through silly, odd, random phrases such as "MRT-PTS-FLLS" or "Mr. T. Pities Fools". Through the use of our ability to remember people, places, numbers and etc. through the sensory nature of our memory. Chunking helps with just taking bits of information at a time and slowly working up to remembering the rest. To be able to learn 65,536 digits of pi is pretty impressive, now how about learning 6,000 binary digits in just 30 mins. There exists a strategy to help with this which is known as the major system. Double letters in order to make the code are disregarded, vowels and the letters w,h,y, and x are ignored, and constants get substituted by the table.
DigitLetter
0s, z
1t, d, th
2n
3m
4r
5l
6j, ch, sh
7c, k, g, q, ck
8v, f, ph
9p, b
an example would be "satellite" which would become "0151"
s = 0
a = nothing
t = 1
e = nothing
ll = 5
i = nothing
t = 1
e = nothing

       I like to also memorize this as a satellite, 0 being space, 1 being the wings of the spacecraft, and  5 being that long piece of the satellite. I think this method is really cool, using it in the perspective of cryptic, super-secret agent stuff you know? Also dog is just 17.
